Dream finish

Seantrell Henderson - It goes without saying that he would be on the list. I love line play and line play is the key to the game. Make no mistake about that. When you have a prospect that is compared to Orlando Pace, that says it all.

Jordan Hicks - The best linebacker I have seen in Ohio. No other linebacker does it all, play the run, play the pass and make big plays like Hicks. I have never waivered in my belief that he will be a Buckeye.

Tyrone Williams - The most underrated receiver in the country. Watch him blow up the recruiting rankings with a full senior year. He is going to look like the steal of the year. A Buckeye all the way once his grades are in order and I think they will be.

LaMarcus Joyner - I don't care if he is a corner or a safety. He is a player who makes things happen on the football field. Great kick returner. Could play receiver if needed. We need to find a way to separate ourselves from Florida State to win this win. Distance matters in recruiting. I don't like our chances as long as we are neck and neck with a school in his backyard.

Brandon Linder - If things fall like I think they could on the offensive line we will be looking at a dearth of inside players on the offensive line.

Dakota Mosley - A kid who just appeared on the scene. He fits the Buckeye system better than any kid out there this year. Looks like an offer is in the works. He is going to be big enough to be an effective inline blocker but catches the ball well and can make something happen after the catch better than most his size.

Christian Bryant - Safety is a need and this kid is flat out a great player with character to match. Sure to be a Buckeye.

Will Hagerup - Yes. I have a kicker on my dream team. It is that important that we fill this position. Think about how many games a year are won in the kicking game.

Some players who would have been on but I feel like we are a long shot:

Christian Green - The best pure athlete in the country. Could be great at 3 different positions.

Jeff Luc - What a beast. We will be lucky to get a visit. LB is not a real need anyway.

Matt James - That he is not on the list shows just how much I think we are out of it.

Fre'Shad Hunter - Felt good about him early. I think he stays in the south now.

Are you saying you think Ben Buchannan and Drew Basil are punters?

I would be thrilled to end up with the group on that list. Those holding out hope for James might as well just let it go now before dragging out the inevitable heartbreak.

SH worries me. We were looking very good with Mike Floyd (same HS as Henderson) and that didn't pan out. I hope this time is different.

So no DTs in your dream finish?

We were always playing catch-up with Floyd and that school was very pro-ND. I don't think this situation is at all like Floyd's.

Our DL quota is filled for the year. Maybe 1 more DT but WHO? Not a good year and why stretch.

A couple of transfers can help alot.

A great list Duane. No one should be disappointed if we get this list. However, I really think our chances are better with James than Joyner and somehow I would like to get Tomilison in this list however he is probably an Illinois commit. I too hope that things work out for us better with Henderson than they did with Floyd. Right now I would make Henderson my #1 "Must" and Hicks #1-A.

Luc has set up a visit for the USC game already, Duane. So it looks like we're lucky so far.

I know Basil is a kicker. I don't know what the deal is with Buchanan. He was always a better kicker than punter.

One, I am not of the opinion that we need to add DTs in this class. Two, the list is falling apart with Garrison Smith to Georgia and a number of questions popping up about Hankins. I saw some video of Laken Tomlinson recently. It was only a few plays of him as a guard. I have to assume the coaches have a better film of him as a DT but based on that video I have a hard time getting excited about him as a DT. We are in good enough shape with the current roster that we don't have to reach, and it is a small class. Getting the most out of every offer is even more important in a small class.

I don't see the Buckeyes offering Anderson. Page back to my blog posts and you will see why I think that.

As last year provided little to project on after September - this year is going to have a different feel.
I would take Duane's list now - with no questions asked.

Believe Staff will have a few names that make them re-thing there board and change things up this year.

This years team is really going to help our recruiting beyond 2010. Product will stimulate the minds and souls of the football Gods.

Then why do we need a 3rd kicker?

Duane,
Why does Hagan not have an offer from Pitt or even Penn State? This kid says he is 6'2" 220 lbs and runs a 4.3. Are we buying damaged goods or do they just not know what they are doing?

The buzz seems to be that Buchanan is a punter.

Always a big ol' stinkin' red flag for me when the home state schools are not offering. I don't know. I have not seen him play. Our safety recruiting is the only other area of recruiting where the staff has had a spotty record. We have been going off the board in recent years. This looks like another one. I hope we see more success with this one. Coleman and Russell are seniors. We need some players to step up and we need them now.

After seeing tape on the big OL from Maryland that we have offered, If James and Kinder do not want to come, he would be great.

Love to have him. Right now just a visit would be a good thing.

The nice thing about him is his brother, who is supposedly going to be even better, would probably follow him here next year.
