Getting some perspective

I want Buckeye fans to step back and take a deep breath. Get off the ledge. There is plenty of chatter out there that Josh Shaw will pick Florida before the month is out. He has been talking about Florida since his visit and is now going back. It looks like a just to make sure visit. We didn't get a just to make sure visit. I have not heard anything one way or the other from my own sources so I cannot confirm or deny. I am resigned to it. I was never really convinced but it was USC that I was afraid of. A California kid turning down USC to come to Ohio State was something I had a hard time wrapping my mind around. Calm down. Everything is going to be alright.

You have to like where we are with Joyner now. Who would you rather have, Joyner or Shaw, is a a question that you will get different answers to depending on who you ask. I like Shaw better because of the size but that is the only difference between them. Joyner has reportedly dropped Florida State because of Mickey Andrews leaving. I think the entire situation at Florida State has led him to that decision. It is far from certain that Bobby Bowden will be back. There was a report that Joyner enjoyed his Notre Dame visit best of all. He has a teammate who looks to be a Fightin' Irish verbal soon in Brandon Lindner. Why would a kid that is thinking about winning, and worried about the coaching situation, want to wade into the mess that could come out of Notre Dame after the season? What is the difference between Notre Dame and Florida State?

Cullen Christian is still out there. He is not much behind Shaw and Joyner on my board and we get him last.

In the end it comes down to this. Christian Bryant and Latwan Anderson will be Buckeyes. Any other year, when we are not hearing about these national kids looking this way, we would be very happy about getting Bryant and Anderson. Both are on just about every top ten list you will find.

Calm down.

Joyner might be small, but he absolutely jumps out at you on film as a special player(especially against Byrnes, SC). There have been alot of small players with big heart and great athleticism that have made huge impact (Winfield, for one). Joyner, Anderson, Bryant would be fantastic. With a pretty good DB class last year some of whom are redshirting into class of 2010 (Corey Brown, etc) makes a great class.

Hey Duane,

speaking of out-of-state prospects: anything going on with James Louis...still solid on OSU or is Florida's recruitment of him causing some wavering? Neither team is making their wideouts look great this year.

Never going to get my shorts in a bunch over a Cali Kid - especially a DB. OSU has had and will have DB's who play well and excel.
Excitement on the recruiting trail right now is what we have going on with those 2 DT prospects and the other 1/2 dozen or so DB's that are still giving us looks.

Bryant and Anderson are in the Barn
Joyner is already locked in with the Carter Family.
He already committed to them.
Hagan is the super freak Hybrid we need.
Louis will play Lock down corner here.
Shaw or Christian, either or. I dont think it makes much of a DIFFERENCE. There is so little difference between the two. If Christian commits here first, Shaw maybe left out. Too bad for him. Numbers are what they are. DT may pose the same problem, but I think they make Hankins wait for Floyd to make up his mind first. I think there is only room for ONE DT with the numbers. Gibson leaving, Heyward staying; unless numbers give up more.

He is solid in his commitment. Has Florida ever officially offered him? I stopped paying attention. They were/are in on so many top skill guys. As good as Louis is I think they have a shot at better. If they still have not officially offered I would say their contact is all about having an emergency option should their recruiting effort go to hell in a handbasket.

Im greedy, I would like to have both. I still wish to this day that Charles Woodson from Freemont, Ohio would have signed with us. That would have given us Shawn Springs and Charles Woodson at the corner postitions, how would you have thrown the ball against us? If I had to choose between Joyner and Shaw, I would probably say Shaw. He's bigger and he looks like he likes to drop the hammer.

Brandon Linder just commited to Da U, not the Irish, so that helps us with Joyner. Plus i don't think ND can get Joyner in with his grades.

Ceoent calm down you are talking out ur butt. I think a good indication about where we stand can be taken by the staff calling Cullen Christian and telling him the visit was off. We will get either Joyner or Shaw and from all indications it is Joyner but who knows.

Where did you read Linder committed? I think he goes to Miami but didn't know it was official.
